What time is Rutgers vs. Illinois? Big Ten announces kickoff, broadcast for home finale

The Big Ten has set a time for Rutgers’ final home game.
The final game at SHI Stadium in 2024 will kick off at noon when Rutgers hosts Illinois on Nov. 23. The game will be broadcast exclusively on the streaming service Peacock, the conference announced Monday.
Rutgers and Illinois have met eight times overall. The Illini hold the series record with a 3-5 mark, including three straight wins from 2018-2020. The Scarlet Knights snapped their three-game losing streak in the series with a 20-14 win in Champaign, Illinois in 2021, however. This will be the first meeting between the teams since.
As for what it means in 2024: The game could be a pivotal showdown for two teams jostling for position in the Big Ten standings. Illinois (6-3, 3-3 in Big Ten play) has lost its last two games to No. 1 Oregon (38-9) and Minnesota (25-17) but has a chance to get of the schneid Saturday against Michigan State (4-5, 2-4). Rutgers, meanwhile, snapped a four-game losing streak last week with a 26-19 win over Minnesota.
The Scarlet Knights will take on Maryland ahead of their showdown with Illinois with a shot at clinching bowl eligibility in College Park, Maryland. If the Scarlet Knights lose to Maryland, they’ll have two chances to secure a sixth win against Illinois and at Michigan State on Nov. 30.
Here is the remainder of the Scarlet Knights’ schedule in the 2024 season:
Saturday, Nov. 16: at Maryland (6 p.m., FS1)
Saturday, Nov. 23: vs. Illinois (noon, Peacock)
Saturday, Nov. 30: at Michigan State (TBD)
